What Are Dentures?

Dentures are replacements for missing natural teeth which are made of acrylic, metal, nylon, and/or plastic. Depending on the patient’s condition, dentures are utilized to replace a few missing teeth or replace all teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues.

What Does Getting a Fixed Bridge Involve?

Types of Dentures and Their Characteristics:
  • Complete dentures: are used when necessary to replace all missing teeth, gums, and tissues.
  • Partial removable dentures: are employed to replace some missing teeth and are removable.
  • Partial fixed dentures (Implant-Supported Bridge): replace some missing teeth and can’t be removed by the patient.
  • Implant retained dentures (Overdentures): add retention and provide an anchorage for the false teeth to connect to when in the mouth.
  • Immediate (Same Day) dentures: allow for tooth extractions and denture installation in the same day.
